I found pointers to this in the rejig-thread and am currently experimenting with this.
Correct me if i'm wrong
As Rejig doesn't change the structure of the m2v it processes it should be possible to mux the generated streams into the old vobs without using scenarist.
1. Demux m2v
2. Rejig
3. Replace the m2v stream in the original vob (with ifoedit - remux m2v).
i don't think that ifoupdate is needed any more (there are no authored ifo's), so after readjusting the VTS-sectors the original ifos from the DVD should be okay.
Problems that would be solved:
Button over video will not be a problem any more (is that right?) as only the video stream of the original vob will be touched, the rest stays the same.
Problems i see:
1. Ripping by PGC seems to be a bad idea, some DVDs have a crazy structure inside the VOB (look at Robbie Williams live, the VOB-Ids look like they were randomized).
2. Omitting content (like specific PGCs containing extras) would be impossible (since that would mean reauthoring).
...
Solutions:
for 1. Ripping by Vob-id seems to be better, as you can put together the pieces in the same order as they were in the original VOB and then just remux with ifoupdate.
for 2. i don't know...
What do you think?
