Hi, i try to backup one of my movies on DVD-R 4.7 gigs. I can fit 4489 MB on the DVD-R. By default, DVD2one is set to 4472 MB, but after the process, i get oversized result, in the range of 4992 MB.

Why is that? is it a know bug?

I guess ill have to set it to 4000 MB in order to get the files to fit on DVD-R...

I am surprised. It was a known problem with 1.2x but was corrected with 1.30

Since 1.30 I have never had a oversize. But I am doing "movie only" exclusively.

I think it depends on the movie. I use 4444 and mine almost always come out at 4.36gb, a very few at 4.34gb, where 4.37gb is actually what fits on a "4.7GB" disc.

@k2: yeah, i should specify: i've got oversized while doing full-disk. I re-done it with movie-only and joining files and i got the perfect result. But still.... i want a full-disk!

I set it always for 4482, full movie and constant ratio and 95% of the time it comes out to 4.37. On a few occasions it does come out higher than 4.37 (4.45 - 4.60) but running it again on the oversize will bring it to 4.37 (only a few extra minutes). I don't know why some movies confound it but in it's defense Dvd2One version 1.30 does seem to be the most accurate "sizer" of all the transcoders I use without employing elaborate registry tweaks and manipulations.I guess undersizing bothers me more so I overlook the rare oversize calculations.
