I'm trying to encode a Region 2 PAL 2hr movie on my P.C., using DivX 5.1 Pro and Xmpeg 5.02, using 4 passes. These are my settings:
Multipass, 1st Pass:
General:
No profile selected; GMC on, Quarter Pixel on, Bid. Enc. on
Performance/Quality: Slowest
Encoding Bitrate : 1086kbps
Write Logfile : C:\divx.log
Write MV file : C:\mvinfo.bin
Video:
Physco. Enhance. : Slow
Scene Ch. Thresh. : 50%
Soure Interlace : Encode as progressive
Max. Keyfame Int. : 300
Multipass, Nth Pass:
General:

I can see no problems with these settings, and have encoded a few movies with DivX 5.03 Pro like this. So, the problem - when I click start conversion, it encodes the first pass fine, at around 15fps, but when it comes to do the second pass, i get this confirmation error dialogue pop-up:
Type 3 MV File inconsistency found
closing MV file. Debug ?
clicking Yes or No, just make the error come up again (per frame).
So as I'm not exactly sure what the mv file does (...something about the movement of blocks?), i decided i could just as easily go without it. With exactly the same other settings. Now when i click endode, it does pass 1 fine, then pass 2 fine - both at 15fps - then when it gets to pass 3, it gives me another error:
C:\build\divx-4.5\libdivxencore\src\FrameLevelControl\FrameLevelControlNthPass.cpp, line 303 : expression "this->overflow[this->n-1] == this->vbv_channel_idea.CapUsed()' is false. Debug ?
clicking no, just gets it up again, and when i click yes, i think it encodes one frame, then i get this error:
C:\build\divx-4.5\libdivxencore\src\FrameLevelControl\FrameLevelControlNthPass.cpp, line 289 : expression 'this->CT == pRes->iDisplayTimestamp' is false. Dubug?
and clicking no or yes on this one, just gets it up again.
btw, the first two (or 1) passes are fine, i have turn on "display output (1 of 25 frames)" and everything seems fine. and another thing, when i explore my directory C:\, i find there is no "build" folder !
if any1 could explain what the heck is happening, it'd be much appreciated,
