Im having some trouble with a few movies. (xvids) The original file plays in sync but when i encode it and author it, the audio goes off. What makes this problem different is that its not a gradual loss of sync. The movies play fine untill it hits a spot in the movie (a crc error no doubt) then the audio goes out of sync and stays that way. Is there anyway to fix this? Either edit the .wav file or edit the whole movie. Any one, and im sure there are, who has/had this problem please shed some light on the subject.

Thanks in Advanced.

To fix it i do this:

1) Check where the movie start to desync with audio.

2) Open movie file in VirtualDubMod, go to the time found in 1) and cut the movie.

3) Reopen the part out of sync in VirtualDubMod and delay audio to sync it with video and remux it.

3a) If a/v play sync there go to 4) if at some time, audio start again to get desync, go to 2) and do the same thing until you have all parts of the movie in sync.

4) Append all sync parts in VirtualDubMod and mux it. Note: Use Matroska (mkv) as output format or you'll have some errors if for ex. some blank sound are presents between parts due to the resync processus.

It's not a easy thing, if anyone knows another way to resolve POST IT :D
