hi. i just had a thought today.

i have many mp3#s and music video's on my pc. and i always have winamp in the background playing them. when a video plays, i have it so winamp jsut puts a small window on the right (vertically centered), which is on top of all other windows. normally this doesn't affect me (ie it's not in the way) but sometimes it gets really annoying.

is it possible to attach a small screen (7") to the pc and have winamp on that screen but the rest of my programs on the main one? my graphics card is a dual head Matrox G450.

will it not be worth the money spent on the screen?

** DISCLAIMER: My experience is limited to the Nvidia dual head technology, so the problems I had may not apply to you **

Yes its possible.

I run a dual monitor setup at work and there is only one very annoying problem. And that is if you're running a game or another application using the overlay of one of the monitors, and you accidently scroll out to the other monitor, the game will minimize because it thinks you want access to the desktop. The nvidia drivers allow you to set applications to run on certain monitors and everything, so if Matrox has something similar, I'd say you will be set.

ebay is a good place to get started. Just search for "4 inch lcd" or something like that and you can find yourself a niftly little mini TFT screen for winamp. My roomate is looking at one of these right now for a PC in his car.
