gknot 28.6 installation problem

hi! i have a strange problem.
i tried 2 install the 28.6 pack, but i get the following message in a ms-dos window: "program too big to fit in memory" that is hard to beleve since i have 512mb of ddr... does any1 know how to overcome this problem?

I think the installer you downloaded is corrupt.Please re-download and try again.

i thought so too, and so i did exactlly that, but it did the exsact same thing... but thanks anyway... any other ideas? anybody?
