Hi im very happy to post here, in this very good forum, everybody here has done a great comunity service!.

Well i never had the chance to post something cuz all the problems that i had, allready have been posted.....BUT now,i came across the movie ''Italian Job'' and well im from ecuador and here all my family speaks spanish (the dvd only came in english)and i wanted to transelate the subtitles... and i did, everything got to sych, the video is perfect etc etc. is all good.

but now my question is .... how do i get to edit the menu in photoshop so i can put there a button that says '' Spanish Subtitles ON OFF ''..without the hassle of redoing every thing in scenarist or maestro.. suppose something like the big 3, and then just take the subtile menu, edit, and get it back together. cuz i know that i can demux everything and do it part by part but is a very tedious thing. i never tried Nu Menu beacause i have read that its only for compressing menus, if i am wrong please correct me. maybe im asking too much but is there like a guide to editing the menus or some kind of info that i can use?.

well that is all and thankx for reading.

ps: for the coding i use the big three, then i use maestro to put the spanish subs where the english subs were(hence in the tv it says english subs but with the replacement it show my spanish subs on screen, making my brother think that there where no spanish menus on the dvd cuz of the display on the dvd top bar)<<< i hope i made mysef understand)using the twilight guide. (i dont know how to use scenaris very good. just enough to do the big 3 hehe.).it would be better if i can put a menu.:D

maybe Menuedit will help, though I'm not sure if it can add functionality. I once heard about a Mac based professional tool on the dvdlist (that's a mailinglist for dvd professionals), but I've never gotten to see it.

@ XoDiuS :

MenuEdit will not do all the job for you, but it may help.
What you need can be done in few steps:
1) demultiplex cell with your menu into: video, audio, subpicture (just delete all other cells from the .vob file using MenuEdit and then use any demultiplexer you have);
2) do what you want with the video (or just create a new one from the bmp exported with MenuEdit);
3) multiplex video/audio/subpictures back into vob file (say with IfoEdit);
4) open your vob file in MenuEdit 2.3.0, get into menu of interest and save buttons layout as .mbl (not as .bmp);
5) replace menu cell with what ever you've prepared;
6) go back to edit dialog and import saved buttons layout;
7) delete any unused buttons;

It gets a little bit more complicated if you want to have highlights for buttons added with MenuEdit. You will need to modify highlights(subpictures) with some other tool.

In other words MenuEdit will help you move buttons into created menu and insert it back into vob file. Not much - but at least something :)

i had an idea let's see, first of all thank you for the reply, doom9 and dimad.

instead of erasing buttons i just want to replace the text on the menu
supose instead of saying english i erase it on photoshop and put spanish, put the structure i dont want to touch it cuz it would be more work, the work i want to evade (not beacuse im lazy hehe) is to recontruct everything in scenarist or maestro. u know it would be simple just to put the subs on the english channel an change the menu so i can fool the dvd to think is the english button put on the disply would show the spanish subs...let me see is i can make a picture expamle
C:\example.bmp

i hope it came out good...

thankx again for reading!
