View Full Version : Virtualdub having problems with 2pass-1st pass

Yep. Two days ago I uninstalled all my codecs, because I was having a codec conflict. Then I installed Xvid 5.1, ffdshow, and some XviD wich I'm not sure who did it.

The problem is that every time I try to do a 2pass 1st pass, even if its DivX 5.1 or XviD, I get a projected filesize of 75 megs, and it doesn't change along the process.

This thing used to work fine until I messed up uninstalling codecs.

What should I do?

Thanks.

Have you carried out the complete two pass encode to see whether it's really a problem?

Yes, unless you elect to save the quant 2 first pass (in XviD), what is created is some kind of a useless dummy file. As b00zed implies, wait until after the second pass to see if you've screwed up.

Yes, on XviD I found out it was because it was doing a dummy first pass. But what is happening on DivX 5.1? I thought it didn't have a choice for dummy 1st pass!

But what is happening on DivX 5.1?

Same thing.
