What other popular codecs besides DivX could possibly be used to decode this video?

Huh? DivX is a video codec, not an audio codec. (At least, modern DivX is video only. There is an old "DivX :-) Audio Compressor" which, if I recall correctly, is an tweaked version of an old Windows Media codec.)
If you're trying to figure out what's in an AVI container -- it's hard for me to tell from the way you've worded your question -- and if you want to be sure of the codecs and other information, or need to test that what's installed will render properly, you'll find the GSpot (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe) utility may be of use to you.
