View Full Version : Audio problem in DVD menu, authored with Maestro

So I'm happily making a menu in Maestro, and have encountered a little snag. It's not critical, it's just a tad annoying. I'm using WinDVD, and have also tried PowerDVD.

I have a main menu, and a transition effect to the video. The transition is another menu with a timeout delay of 0. The video plays flawlessly. In this video transition, there's a sound effect. Specifically, it was two seperate sound effects that I combined into one wav file, then converted to ac3. So when I make a distinction later in the post, it's between the first sound effect and second sound effect, contained within one file.

Now, here's the problem.

When I press the button and it goes to the transition, about 1/2 the time, the first sound effect won't play. The second one always plays. However, after pressing the button a few times(usually 3)...then the first sound effect always works(in windvd, never in powerdvd). I've also tried moving the sound back a bit, but then it won't sync with the audio. If I move the sound a very minor amount, the same problem still persists.

Any ideas?

Well, I actually figured out my own problem. In case anyone runs into a similar problem, I thought it would be good to post an answer.

It seems to have something to do with having the first menu be a still menu. When I added a 30 second loop of music to the static menu, it automatically made the sound effect during the transition play properly.
