6) No warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.

I have never posted something concerning a movie I do NOT own. I only asked question about a movie Ghost Ship that I tried to backup in a format that you all know very well. I used a program (NeoDivX) that let me choose a codec (free!) which is Xvid (and not DivX that is not free to encode!)
Be careful Bond: you DID NOT offend me but someone could be. In my (personal) opinion you do not have the right to tell me:

as always, you wont get any help on doom9 on how to process illegally obtained material (and that is the case if you dont own the original source of the .mpeg and .avi)

because you do not know whether I got the movie illegally or not!
I could post the numbers under the bar code...
I do not have any ac3 files because I thought I did not need it. Once I ripped the movie NeoDivx asks you how MB you want it to be and which codec you prefer to use. It does NOT give you ANY ac3 file. Just the .avi. Then I got the .mp3 (or a pseudo wav if you prefer) using VirtulDubMod. But probably something went wrong in the way I had already explained.

If you read the announcement you were given a link to carefully, you'll find this passage
6. In the same spirit, no help will be given on DVD movies that you do not own and are not making a legal backup of. We know that in certain countries it may be legal to make a copy of a movie you rented and keep it past the point where you return the DVD, but since we cannot reliably determine if such laws apply (and in most countries, the described act is not legal) we have decided to lay out rule6 as copyright law works in most countries.. that is there is a certain fair use clause, meaning that you can make a copy if you own the disc, or if a close friends owns it (the definition of close is up to court), but in such a case you wouldn't have any problem reacquiring the original source to get the AC3. If you can do that, we can reasonably assume that your backup is legit. If you cannot, we'll presume that we're not dealing with a fair use case, and can thus not provide any help. There is a certain amount of incertainty in this determination, and there may be very adverse circumstances due to which we might incorrectly assume that your backup is not legit, and while we'd like to rule out such doubts, we also have an obligation to the community as large and the people who run things (server administrators, and the administration of the board (basically me because I'd be the first person any law enforcement agency would turn to)), and towards that end we have to make a compromise somewhere, and that somewhere just lies at the point where you cannot reacquire the sources.

@cocotimbo:

Your country, Italy, has implemented the EU Copyright Directive (EUCD). Here is Italy's version of the EUCD, enacted 28 March 2003:

http://softwarelibero.org/progetti/eucd/bozza-legge-italiana.shtml

I don't read Italian, but IP Justice says, "... The new Italian law makes it illegal to attempt to create computer programs or devices that would help an owner of a CD, DVD, or other digital media to bypass technological restrictions in order to gain access to her own property. The law also outlaws the mere possession of such software, as well as banning the dissemination of information that could assist in its development. While the law permits limited circumvention for personal use copying, many other legitimate consumer circumventions and technical speech are still forbidden under the Italian law..." (italics mine)And, regarding our interpretation of Fair Use, I will refer you to Doom9's main website, and his disclaimer. Please read the two paragraphs under "Piracy and Copyright." http://www.doom9.org/disclaimer.htm

You may not like our rules, but you agreed to abide by them when you registered. Rule 6 exists to protect Doom9, his website, his forum, and its membership, from litigation by organizations who show no hesitation to use it as a weapon on a global basis.
