I am having problems encoding my DVD - Dr DoLittle 2 in PAL format.
I am using Koepi's build and doing 2 pass encoding. I have tried encoding the film twice using different quantization (MPEG and H.263) and in both instances at exacly the same spot there the camera zooms out of a scene the upper right corner is pink and the size increases with the increase in the cameras field of view.

Some settings include:
Motion Search precision = 6- Ultra high
VHQ = 4- Wide Search
FourCC used = XVID
Maximum I-Frame Interval = 500
Minimum """""" = 1

Further Xvid settings are as follows
Qaurterpel [ I have tried this on and off and no change to pink ]
Chrome Motion = ON ALWAYS
Max I-frame interval = 500
Min I-frame interval = 1
Max B-Frames = 3
B-Frame Quant. % = 150
B-Frame Quant. offset = 100
B-Frame threshold = 20

---?>
Min I-Frame quanitze = 2
Max I-Frame quanitze = 6
Min P-Frame quanitze = 2
Max P-Frame quanitze = 12

Two Pass -?>
P-Frame boost% = 0
Below i-Frame distance = 10
I-Frame bitrate reduction = %30

Curves -?>
Use alternative curve system [ on ]
Agrrssion = Medium
High distance from average = 100%
Low distance from average = 150%

Enalble minimum relative quality : 30

Why am I just getting this pink bit there and what can I do ? (rencode one more time ? ):scared:

Is this pink spot visible if the file is opend in VirtualDubMod (DirectDraw disabled) ?

This spot is not visable if you just watch the avs file, right ?

Encode using a width that is multiple of 16, and you will not get the pink bits.

It also looks like your aspect ratio is off. Try using Gordian Knot's Resolution calculator (http://gordianknot.sf.net), and using the resulting AVS... or at least the resize/crop part. Doing it manually is very difficult.

Actually I took the scene which gets getting that effect and tried somewhere near 4 different combinations before then changing/ playing with the res as sh0dan suggested HOWEVER! this was no a multiple of 16 rather I simply change res from 718x290 to 720x290 and that fixed it.
