use chroma optimizer/motion on b&w movies?

does it hurt/help if i use chroma optimizer and chroma motion
on black and white movies? i understand that they work on chroma (color) values but was uncertain if black and white would be included as well. what if i used greyscale as well when using those two options since some b&w films don't solely use b&w to make up the video image?

From my own understanding (having read that) you dont need to use chrome it is a bit redundant when dealing with grey-scale / B&W stuff.

I don't think the post you mentioned will clear dede95064's doubts.
He's asking about chroma motion and chroma optimizer.
Anyway, my guess also is that if the movie is real B&W those two options have nothing to work on, so in other words are useless.
Not that I can stand by my answer but...

thanks for the replies. i indeed did read that post before posting. it didn't really answer about chroma motion/optimizer so i second guessed it and that's why i posted here asking about those two options.
it seems that they are rudundant/useless when using greyscale stuff and don't do anything to the video.
