I have a DVD with motion menus and i want to edit them so as to add/remove some buttons...
One note here is that i have a fresh install of Windows Xp Pro and i have installed only what i need...
1)Intervideo WinDVD v.5.0(not 5.1)
2)Avisynth 2.52
3)VFAPI v.1.05
3)DVD2AVI 1.76 and DVD2AVI 1.77.3DG decode fix v.1.00
4)Adobe Photoshop CS v.8.0
5)Adobe After Effects v.6.0
6)Ravisent Cinemaster 99(for use with DVDMaestro)
7)Dr.DivX v.1.03
8)CCE 2.66.01.07
With Vobrator v.0.2 i demux the menus that i want to edit and then I pass them with DVD2AVI 1.76(compatible with VFAPI) and then from the .d2v I create a pseudo-avi with VFAPI.
With WinDVD i make some snapshots of my menus and edit them in Photoshop, keeping only what is necessary to "cover" the original menu.
Now I import the .PSD(as merged layers) and the pseudo-avi in AE 6.0
I place them in timeline and everything looks fine.
The problem starts in rendering. I want to render in DV format, because the render times are very fast, plus it encodes much faster in CCE. So, everything looks fine, but after the rendering, the DV file is very bad in quality. The words that i have created in Photoshop are shaking, covered with a lot of noise and the background video is bad. I reneder always with "Best settings"
The only solution that i found is to render in DivX. If i render in DivX the output is what i expect, with clear, sharp words, but the rendering times are tripled, plus it encodes slower in CCE.
The thing is that i had previously(before format and installing WinXP) very good results with DV, but after formatting i have this problem.
I don't know what DV codec AE uses, but is there any other DV codec that i should try?
