What browser do u normally use?

I was wondering, now (recently) that IE is declared unsupported untill the next MS OS comes out, what browser do u generally use?

as for myself, I've been a netscape user since about 1995 till 98. then switched to IE5 (got better than netscape), then to mozilla at about 2001, and now mozilla-firebird is my main browser (nearly a year). what's your favorite browser?

Mozilla Firebird 0.7 and Opera 7.21.But Mozilla seems to be faster in bringing webpages quickly than Opera.(I use 144kbps connection).

Got sick of loading firebird, so this nifty little ie customization
does it job better than well.

It has ad-blocker, browser tabs, skins, mouse gestures, tons of plugins etc.

IE does not stand a chance against Mozilla and Firebird. I also use Thunderbird for mail.

I use Firebird, specifically the SSE2 optimized builds by aebrahim. Incredibly fast and efficient browsing with little to no problems. I previously used Avant Browser, but it became so riddled with nasty bugs I just could not deal with it anymore.

Same here. Only I resource hacked it to look like an IE. I dunno, I just always have this customizing urge. I couldn't even let my favorite windoze version in terms of looks (windoze 2000, still has the best visual appearance) uncustomized :D. (My linux is TBM->Touched By Muf too, btw)
I came to it when I was doubting between Mozilla(Firebird) and IE. IE loads pages faster, but Mozilla has tabs. And so my attention was brought upon MyIE2. Oh my do I like it.

Mozilla & Firebird are too slow for my P3 500 MHz machine. I therefore prefer Opera which is at least two times as fast as Firebird in my machine. (I even tried those processor optimized builds but they didn't help.)

based on ie, so no comaptibility issues with sites, popup blocking by blacklist or automatic, tabbed browsing, customisable search bar, autologin stuff... loads more. it's lovely, but a little buggy. nothing too bad though.

I can post a long list of sites it will render incorrectly. Say any site using the HTML color #777777. It's a small cosmetic bug that has been in IE since at least version two or so. And there is more much more. Mr. Meyer is a page design genius and has written several pages while being 100% correct are rendered wrong by IE. And he should know. He does after all teach HTML CSS classes. And has even worked to develop browsers and has helped set some of these standards. ;) If only I could find his complex spiral demo pages again. A quick one I can point out is the Matrix theme for his home page. http://www.meyerweb.com/ IE renders a mysterious gap above his photo. what i meant was that as ie is the most popular browser, and most sites are geared towards it, you'll not have the problems you might have with opera etc. now, i'm not saying these sites are w3c compliant, but if a site is ok in ie, it'll be ok in SB.

Some people like to make pages compatible with other browsers than IE, some people like to make pages incompatible with IE. Some people have real hobbies :D.

Not really. The poll ATM is showing half and half. And most pages are not writen for it. The only pages I have not been able to view in mozilla are Windows Update. Since it uses Microsoft's proprietary VBscript and other proprietary extentions. And an isolated page or two that have scripts blocking non IE browsers. Which BTW if I was so inclined would be easy to get past since I can change the UA string in a heart beat to fool them.

Almost no one outside of Microsoft writes pages specifically for IE. Most people write what they considder to be HTML compliant pages using Micosoft software which often has been found to output non compliant HTML. It's that simple. Anyone got what they considder a mozilla killa page?

Dreamweaver automates the process of maintaining large archaeic code bases of static content. Generating professional web pages is still up to the designer and their underlying knowlege of HTML and CSS. Dreamweaver while automating the coding process if not hand tweaked generates loose bloated pages. Anything is better than Frontpage though.

It's good enough for my needs, which are minimal. My favorite thing about it is the option to put the tabs at the bottom. The option to not use the global proxy settings is good, too. When I want to use proxyrama, I just turn it on and open myIE2. Simple. Then when I finish proxy surfing, I just close both and open regular IE(with IE's proxy turned off). Autohide the taskbar area is convenient too, I love this one for what it doesn't do! No headaches.

I used Notepad only because it was convenient for me at the time, and I wasn't aiming for anything fancy. Speaking of, I've seen some Japanese web sites which are simply amazing. Somehow, even without Java and ActiveX they are still able to do some awesome stuff with their pages. If you haven't been to Japan, go now. ;)

Notepad and Dreamweaver in split screen mode (DW has these annoying kinds of ways to write HTML so I'll always have to do *some* kind of manual code editing, plus if you wanna do funky shit with layers, DW's preview window goes nuts, it doesn't support stuff like relative positioning/sizing and nesting very well).

I have been using Opera 6 for awhile now but based upon numerous recent recommendation, and this thread, I yesterday switched to Firebird. I like it and think I'll stay switched. But that is at least partially due to the cost of upgrading to Opera 7. And I do NOT think that Mozilla Firebird is faster than Opera.

I think slower connections has benefit from using Mozilla Firebird than Opera.This is not my opinion alone,few of my friends have also reported the same.On account of that we all switched to Mozilla Firebird.All of my friends are using 56-100Kbps dial-up connection.
If the speed is high and you browse on fast server,i doubt difference will not be noticed.But on slow ones Mozilla has lead.
