I'd like to view the mpeg info (such as region, resolution, type (vcd, divx), etc) for my mpg files not necessarily when I play them. Which programs do that?
I appreciate any help.

hi,
honestly i do not fully understand what you want...

maybe gspot will do the job for you, but it is actually for avis.

anyway, what do you mean by regions? normal mpg files do not have regional restrictions on them (thank god)! and for a DVD you can look it up with any DVDPlayer or ripper (preferably DVDdecrypter)

There is a small program called mediainfo that does what I think you are asking for. It gives all the internal information ,i.e bitrate, audio, etc. Can't remember where I found it.

echooff: No problem, your info was interesting and I wanted to do a little checking!

idigvb: Your findings on how this program fits/doesn't' fit your needs might be of interest to others. I'm sure that some of our members are aware of and are using this app, but honestly, I haven't opened it up and used it as of this writing. Please respond and let us know what you find. :)
