x-box backups ?

hellow,
I was reading through the forum and I came across a thread that muntioned something about x-box backups. is this possible?
what programs would you need? would you use a dvd burner ?
and would you use + / - ? any help would be greatly apreciated.

anything possible; but i'm just saying that.

a guy i know at work told me that he could play x-box games through his computer, i wasn't really paying attention, but it had something to do with download the cd image from the x-box to his computer hardrive (like backup a dreamcast game); it's kind of like using his computer as an x-box emulator, but with an actual x-box. he might have just been kidding with me.

before you say "that's a waste of a computer" people do uses their computer to watch divx video on there tv, and if it does work, it's still cheaper than buying a dvd burner.

The Xbox has got a harddrive on which you can store movies/games/music etc. You can even upgrade that harddrive. But these things require you to install a modchip into your Xbox and thus I think this discussion could be considered a Warez discussion which isn't allowed here ( Forum rules ). But that depends on your point of view. Some people say it's your right to install whatever you want into your console.

You don't need to backup your games anyway because the discs are safe enough. And as I said: no warez here. ;)

thanks for the info. just curious if it could be done.
i was just wondering if you could do a backup of the game by itself,
without doing an upgrade to the hardware.

you can. but i heard you need some game like oh jamesbond and a mem card, but i'm not sure though. though it could be a rumor however though. btw good luck and be careful you don't break any warrantees while meddling with things. plus ftp transfer's of your choice of files is possible. and watching divx et al. also takes a load off of your computer while watching the video.
