Hi everyone, this is my first post, so forgive me if I fell a bit confused :)
Well I have quite a problem with OagMachine encoding a ac3 file (5.1 448kbps) into aac using the nero dll. The matter is that the mp4 file i get after the encoding is actually longer than the ac3! And I'm talking of some minutes longer! (something like 1h 33 min for the ac3 and 1h 41min for aac!). I tried every combination of bitrates/LC-HE/stereo-surround and the result is always the same. Any suggestion?
Once again please excuse me if i'm not posting in the right section and also forgive my english (I'm italian).
Thanks in advance to everyone! :) :)

In that thread you can find a lot of info on aac issues.
Your AAC is longer because nero thinks that it gets 44.1khz instead of 48khz and that creates a slowdown by a ratio of 48/44.1
BTW, search option is very good

High kecci,
of course aaar9800 gave you the right answer, but the BSN thread is extremely long by now, so maybe to give you a shortcut:
Install BeSweet 1.4, copy BeSweet 1.5b23 files into the same folder. Add aac.dll, aacenc32.dll and NeroIPP.dll into that folder.
Then configure your OagMachine to find the path to BeSweet. If you want 5.1 AAC then choose 6chnew, for 2ch output just one of the surround downmixes. Under any circumstances check in the shibatch part of the GUI 'sample rate conversion' to 44100 Hz. Otherwise you get the funny phenomenon you describe. For configuration of your output chose 'show config dialogue'.
If you still use the Nero 6.0.0.11 package, then replace 6chnew by 6chold. That's it.
Cheers,

You don't need BeSweet 1.4

What .dll's?

@bobsc
Make that ac3enc.dll, and the besweet help files.

I don't want to get some more rage against me because of what I recommend. It's just the recommended way by DSPGuru to update latest BeSweet stable with latest BeSweet beta. It's in the BeSweet FAQ.
I know b23 includes nearly all files the 1.4 version has, but nevertheless, some help files are missing. I just try to give a general procedure that keeps valid if sometime 1.5 stable is released.

I just tried to simplify things and eliminate some confusion. :(
Maybe the FAQ should be updated.

Maybe the FAQ should be updated. the FAQ is correct, and posts contradicting the FAQ only confuse the users.
please, avoid attacking users who follow the FAQ.
no personal offence, though :).

Thanks for your detailed explanation. I was fiddling around for quite some time and kept getting a 'bsn' error. You saved me from reading that other post which was heaps looooooooooooong.
