CCE quick question [Archive]

Hi,
Just a quickie, I used to use CCE2.66 to convert DV to Mpeg a while ago, I`ve started to do more video work now but i`ve forgotten upper field first - should it be selected or not for DV ?

Upper field first should NOT be selected in CCE for DV footage because DV is natively lower field coming off the camcorder.

The short answer is yes (if interlaced), but read Q. 10 of the CCE FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=53770) for a more complete explanation.

If you decide to use CCE's "Upper field first" option to correct the field order for DV sources, the option has to be checked, not unchecked.

I'd rather use AviSynth's DoubleWeave.SelectOdd(), though, with CCE's "Upper field first" option unchecked.

Yes it does need to be checked, I did a short encode both ways to make sure.
