How were you plan to get your video from MPEG-2 to DVD? That process is called DVD Authoring, and it can get very complicated very fast. The tools you choose to use (or can afford to use, as some are very expensive) may limit what you can accomplish, or may complicate the process.

I mean it when I say it's complicated. For example, Doom9 has eight different authoring guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdauthoring.htm), and there is both a DVD authoring (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=39) and an advanced DVD authoring (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=61) forum, and in addition, a forum on IFO/VOB Editors (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=50), which can be part of the authoring (or re-authoring) process.

You can do what you want in Video Studio Six, but it's messy and, since you have already encoded to MPEG2, time consuming because it encodes every project you make--even changes to an existing one.

Video Studio Way1. Cut your movie up into little chunks--the chapters you want. I think you can do this in the editor mode.
2. I've forgotten specifically how to do this, but then you create a family of menus linking all these chuncks.
3. Then hit the "go" button. It's been a long time since I've done this. I'm sorry that I can't be more clear.

Recommendation:

Try out DVD Lab (http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/index.html) (link embedded). You can do what you want to without re-encoding plus create better menus than are in Video Studio. It has a 30 day trial so that you can see if you like it.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Thanks. I will try it.

I used ulead dvd movie factory 2 and i get wat i wanted but the menus that you can create isn't good and it take a very long time to get it to dvd video.

I would also recommend you to use DVDLab. Very easy to use, very fast and it doesn't re-encode or change bitrates, framesizes, or audio.
I bet the reason Ulead takes forever is because by default it changes your framesize to 720x480, your bitrate to a max of 8000k, and your audio to pcm. If your video and audio are already dvd compliant there is no reason to change anything. You can easily go into ulead's settings and change that. However, ulead's menu capabilities are very thin when compared to dvdlab's.
