As a newbie, some help will be appreciated. I have used DVD Decrypter to rip a DVD to the hard drive. The questions are:

1. How do I burn it to a DVD?
2. Will CloneDVD do it one go?
3. What is a good software to shrink the size and
4. Is there a newbie guide to burning DVDs please?

If the DVD you've ripped is DVD-5 (that is, single layer), you could use DVD Decrypter to both Rip and Write, using DVD Decrypter's ISO mode. Many forum members do that with DVD-5s. If it's a DVD-9 (that is, dual layer), using today's DVD burners and media, you must either split the resulting backup into two discs, backup only part of the content, or reencode content at lower bitrates to fit a single layer. The tools you choose to use should produce an image file that can be burned with DVD-burning software, that was either packaged with the burner or purchased separately.

I'm unfamiliar with that package, but it has been discussed (both negatives and positives) in the One click DVD backup solutions (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=65) forum. Initial comments made it seem like no more capable than DVD-Decrypter, but there have been releases since. I recommend you search (http://forum.doom9.org/search.php?s=) specifically for that (or other products) if you're looking for general thoughts and experiences with it.

That forum includes FAQs and other information you're looking for.

Along with all of the sticky threads (FAQs, discussions of both commercial and free software) in the one click forum, you can also peruse the step-by-step DVD backup guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdbackup-guides.htm) on Doom9's web site.
