Hi all, im kinda stuck as to which method i should use to backing up my dvds to dvdr.

Ok i have a pretty fast computer (3.06gig P4) and i have lots of free time so i think going for a dvd9 to 1 dvdr method (or possibly 2) but which guide should i follow? I am looking for a medium as in good results and not to difficult to do, on the doom9 tutorial site there are 4:

Quality over Speed (using CCE)
- using DVDMaestro - by Trilight, last updated 07/21/02
- using Scenarist NT - last updated 05/15/03
- using Scenarist NT, advanced procedures - last updated 05/15/03
- using Scenarist NT & the big 3 (DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U & ReAuthorist) - last updated 05/28/03

Which is the best to go for? I had a bash at the last one but it was quite tough and i kinda got put off, then looked into one click copies but i want to try this again before depending on that. I need some advice, which is the best to use? I want to keep all the original menus and say have just english subs.

Hi ceanth, wellcome to the forum.

Please, take some time to read the forum rules:
http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm

12) How NOT to post on this forum:

5 minutes after your initial post you reply to your own post writing something like "Why is nobody helping me? I'm sure you know the answer". Once somebody replies to your thread but doesn't give you exactly the answer you've been expecting you insult them.

Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!

Sadly i can't help you on this area, but i'm sure that if you spend some time searching on the forum, you'll find the infos you need in order to decide.

Another place to find helpful information is the One click DVD backup solutions (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=65) forum. If you're looking for simplicity of operation, you'll find comments, FAQs, and other helpful information there. Some folks start with one-click tools and then branch out into other tool sets and suites. For them, there are 5 additional forums: DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U & ReAuthorist (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=66) DVD Authoring (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=39) Advanced DVD Authoring (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=61) IFO/VOB Editors (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=50) DVD Burning (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=60) Good luck!

Ah ok thanks for the replies. I think i will give the one using DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U & ReAuthorist again, i want to try to get the best possible result. I will post up if i get any problems with them, there isnt an IRC channel for this forum is there? Sometimes questions can be answered quickly there :)

Use of Ye Olde Searche Buttone (http://forum.doom9.org/search.php?s=) searching for IRC in thread subjects shows that yes, there is a #doom9 channel on efnet, though the discussion about it in the forum may be outdated. I don't use IRC, so can't comment on it.

If you're learning the Big3 (quality over speed), there's always the DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U, and ReAuthorist forum, full of users with lots of knowledge and helpful comments.
