I have a slew of music videos, some are NTSC and some are PAL.
I canot just mix and match by putting these into Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD. Is it even possible to have a dual format DVD? What would be recomended to reencode these (Tmpeg/cce?). The other issue is file name length, many of these videos are live. An example is "Audioslave - Cochise (Live at Blablabla)". With really long names like that they overlap other file names in Pinnacle's Instant CD/DVD. Can anyone recomend a program that could help me with my project? Thanks!

i'm sure i remember reading that tmpgenc ain't excellent for pal/ntsc conversions. i think procoder was cited as being good for that.

I ran a short test a while ago and ProCoder 1.01.35.00 was just as bad as TMPGEnc. My test was PAL->NTSC and both programs just duplicated 5 frames per second. More recent versions of ProCoder are much better apparently, but Vegas 4.0 does a good job as well.

I don't know if recent versions of ProCoder are beter or worse than Vegas. I also wonder if Avisynth can do a better job than either of those.

Procoder 1.5 does a decent job of converting pal->ntsc music videos. Haven't been able to check 2.0 yet
