Hey,

I'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right area but I was trying to play a MKV file which had two OGG audio streams. The first audio stream plays fine with no problems but the second one has ALOT of noise in it.
Is this related to my decoders or the original encoding of the file?

Thanks

Does the OGG sound bad before you mux it?

I didn't encode this file myself. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't my software that was causing the problem and the actual file that was :)

I'm also having lately troubles with Ogg Vorbis into OGM or MKV. I'm having it with MPC player, and using CoreVorbis. I manage to resolve the problem enabling "16 bits decoding" in the CoreVorbis properties page. I think is related to sound card no properly decoding Ogg, but not sure at all. As a tip: Stop the playback, play it again and it alos resolve the problem.

Also, demux the Ogg file and ply it and see if it playback without noise. In my case, all "noisy" ogg files playback properly not muxed inside the A/V container.

... strange, my brother had the same problems recently for a 2 track MKV file he made with Vorbis ... all he had to do was to switch one time between them, and all was fine :O ??

I will tell him to set the decoder output of CoreVorbis to 16 bit, to see if that helps ....
