I was recently testing my wireless setup by pulling movies encoded with Xvid from my PC to my laptop (connected to my TV with video out). I noticed that those movies I encoded from a DVD would stutter quite a bit; but those that I recorded off TV with a Pinnacle Bungee MPEG-2 encoder (and later converted with Xvid) played perfectly. I'm assuming that this is because one is a Transport stream and the other a Program stream, as everything else was the same, similar bitrates, similar file size, encoded the same with Xvid. Am I right in my thinking and is there anything I can do during the encoding process to make the DVD encoding play correctly over a wireless connection.
Thanks

i'm fairly sure that the source doesn't matter. once it's xvid, it doesn't matter what it was before.
what kind of audio streams/frame rate are the different avis? i'm assuming they're similar resolution, bitrate etc? once you copy them to the laptop in full, do they play ok then?
what speed is your wireless connection?

Seems to be a problem with my laptop. When I go from the laptop to the PC, everthing is fine.
Sorry for wasting your time.

Could be you used different apps with different AVI interleaving capabilities.
