K3b (http://www.k3b.org) is an application very much like commercial burning apps for the kde desktop.
Its a frontend for the following :-
cdrdao
cdrtools
dvd+rw-format
eMovix (creates standalone bootable movies)
growisofs
mkisofs
transcode
normalize
vcdimager
I haven't fully tested it, but it runs well and is easy to use. Definately worth checking out.
