I have been trying for some time to create a SVCD or DVD from the AVIs (MJPEG) of my Fujifilm M603, I have tried different tools but the results were never good. I still can not do it in PAL but for NTSC (my DVDPlayer plays booth formats without problems) I finally got a good result with the following procedure (The final video it’s a 1/1000 slow motion but I don’t see the difference):
1 - I get my MJPEG AVIs and with a video edition program (I’ve used ULEAD VideoStudio 7 trial) I create my film that I save as AVI MJPEG 640X480, 30fps with sound PCM stereo 16bit, 48,000Mhz for DVD or 44,100Mhz for SVCD.
2 -With VirtualDub I extract the audio. I load the AVI and in ‘File save WAV’ I save the audio.
3 - With BeSweet I convert the audio from 30fps to 29.970 fps and to MP2. I Input the WAV just created and with the options:
in HIP use MPA Decoder
in MP2ENC select MP2
in OTA Change frame rate from 30000 to 29970.
3 - For the Video conversion to 29.970 fps I use AVIfrate. Just load the AVI and in the NEW Frame Rate choose 29,970.
4 - Now to format conversion with TMPGEnc, first I needed, in the VFAPI Plugin panel, to increase the Directshow priority.
I start TMPGEnc in the 1st panel choose NTSC DVD or SVCD.
In the 2nd panel I load in video my AVI and in the audio my M2P file, in the video Type Non-interlace and in the aspect ratio 4:3 Display.
In the 3rd panel I go to Other Settings and choose High Quality (Slow), I then just choose my output file in the 5th panel and encode.
5 – Finally I burn my DVD/SVCD with the appropriate software.
I don’t have much experience with these tools so any input to improve this is welcome, especially if there is some way of getting a similar result for PAL.
