Hi

The svcd i usually encounter are of 1400MB and there for split into two files so it can fit nicely onto two cds. Now i was wondering if i could burn several of these movies on a dvd and still be able to watch them on my standalone player. If it was possible i could burn upto 4 movies on one dvd.

Any info would be greatly appriciated. I have looked around the forum with no results on my perticular question. Maybe i haven't looked hard enough.

Thanks

Hi & welcome to the forums ... doom9 has a nice guide on how to transfer svcd material to dvd-r here (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/svcd2dvdr.htm). Apart from the audio, no re-encoding is required. 3 movies per dvd would probably be the limit if you deal with 1400 meg movies.

defbunk,

Check out the thread "VCD on 4.7 GB DVD-RW" on this page. Here's the link:

Here, there are info & links pointing toward guides & software that will help you to put SVCD on DVD.

Cheers,
