Hi ! I'm trying to backup a DVD following the guide : Scenarist & the big 3. Now, the subs were all grey and unreadable, but I got the workaround on that one : http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63923 from oddyseus (much obliged, sir).

I updated the .sst 's and imported the subs. To keep as close to the result as reauthorist authors it, I renamed the folders of the subs to what authorist labels them. Yet, I get this message when I try to make the DVD :

Error MuxFromDB:MuxVTS failed
Error Multiplex failed
Error DVD files could not be created

Anyone knows why this happens and if possible, how to solve it ?

ehrm ... I see that this is the total message :

From the looks of it, the bitrate is too high ? How come ? I encoded the total video size is around 4 gig this way, so there's even some space left. I don't want to make it smaller (and thus reduce quality)if I don't have to.

Anyone has any suggestions ?

I am glad that I could be of help.

Anyway this error means that the combined bitrate of your video and audio exceeds 10.08mbs at 3:16mins. The video bitrate is taking its highest there and ofcourse u have the 768kbs dts audio as well.

Use bitrate viewer and check the max that is reported at that point and reduce the max bitrate in your encoder to compensate.

ie. if your video is hitting 9500kbs and your audio is 768kbs this adds up to 10268. Out of specs.

Sorry for the late reply ! Once again, thank you ! The DVD now works on my PC (I guess I'll have to use the better brand DVD-R to make it work on the standalone)

A quick question : since everyone seems to be raving about these Ritek discs (Traxdata uses Ritek right ?) I think I'll switch to these. They're not even that much more expensive than those Princo's anyway (30 - 40 cent per disc or so here). But for the least amount of compatibility probs with standalones, should I go for -R or +R ?

Also, I saw some Traxdata discs seem to be Ricoh compliant ? Which one would be the better one ?
