I am using FlaskMPEG to encode DVDs into 3ivx. Here is the problem. I noticed that when I encode the movies with any form of MP3 audio, the audio doesn't sound right. I don't know exactly how to describe it but in certain areas of the movie the sound kinda pulses. I have also tried MPEG Mediator and it does the same thing. I have tried it on 3 different computers with the exact same results. Does anyone know about this. Is there an audio codec that works properly with 3ivx? I have speant about 20 hours trying to figure this out with no luck, so anything would be appreciated! By the way, I tried using divx and xvid and the sound is just fine so I am sure it is a 3ivx compatability problem.
Thanks!!!!

Welcome to the forum,farklem
Regarding your problem, could you play the mp3 file alone correctly? Some time you may have used low bitrate causing that trouble. You could play it with 3ivx,therefore the problem may be with encoding sound. Please try a higher bitrate. Is there an audio codec that works properly with 3ivx? AAC(Advanced Audio Coding)is supposed to be the audio format well compatible with 3ivx.But for using it you have to change Container to OGM/MKV/MP4 instead of avi(Avi has no support for it).

this is a problem with 3ivx actually.
read Virtualdubs latest changes and you will see Avery has had to do a workaround specifically for it.
speaking from personal experience i found that using PCM worked fine when used with 3ivx but lame mp3 codec etc do not. so if you insist upon using 3ivx you may want to use PCM only and then convert that later. or better yet ask the developers when they plan to fix it. :)
