I have muxed 2 seperate movies using mkvtoolnix 0.7.2 and as far as I am aware, both were done the same way. However, when played back in The Core Media Player with Matroska CDL 1.3, only movie 1 plays back at the correct aspect ratio.
Under Media Properties/Matroska Info, Movie 1 has 2 tracks listed (audio and video). Movie 2 does not show any tracks.
Below is the text file from mkvinfo for both movies.

I am sure that both movies were muxed in exactly the same way so any info as to where I may have gone wrong would be very much appreciated.

Cheers, Beastie.

What happens if you update to CDL 1.6? (http://cvs.corecodec.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/matroska/doc/website/downloads/shellextension/index.html)

Thanks Pamel, Movie 2 now plays perfectly. But now Movie 1 causes TCMP to freeze with 100% CPU usage, as do 2 other mkv files that I have.
All these files play in MPC, but not at the correct AR as the mkv info is not read.
I am using TCMP v4 RC4 build 44 and CDL 1.6.

Yours, confused, Beastie.

EDIT: The only difference between these four files that I can think of is that movie 2 (the one that now plays) does not contain chapters whereas the others do. Could CDL 1.6 have a problem with chapters?

I can confirm that the problem is definately related to chapters. I took the same movie and muxed it twice, once with chapters and once without. The one without chapters plays fine at the correct AR, the one with chapters causes TCMP to freeze on opening.

Here's my method for including chapters using mkvtoolnix 0.7.2 in case that is the problem:

1)Using the chapter editor, I open the OGG format chapter file created by DVDDecrypter.

2)Save the chapter file in xml format.

3)Load the xml chapter file under Global/Chapters/Chapter file. The Charset field is left blank as I don't know which option to choose.

Is this correct? If so, would it be worth trying an older version of the CDL if they are still available.

Many thanks.

Cheers, Beastie.
