DV - What codec for best quality ?

I'm looking for the top DV codec for use in virtualdub. I don't care about bitrate or file size. I want the best picture quality.
What do you suggest ? (I've tryed Mainconcept and Panasonic - but there are no settable compression parameters).

Any help would be nice!

DV compression is always fixed 5:1. There's no bitrate setting in any DV codec.
