looking for fast webhosting for new GordianKnot-family application

I've developed a new one-click DVD transcoding tool, which I don't know where to host. I can't put at usual SF place, coz sources are not released yet. So now I pretty much wanted to publish it for testing, but need quite a bandwidth for it (as you may imagine). Something like up to 0.5-1Gb/day will do for a start until it gets stable...

So can anyone help me with this matter? (or point to someone who can. I was pointed to cofferscuffs already, but I can't reach him for 10 days already...)

Bittorrent would be a viable option. And smoking fast with but a few seeders. The issue would be the seeders. The torrent could be hosted on geocities or a forum attatchment for that matter. Though the forum attachment may eat up doom's BW so that would not be good. :P

Seeders is a big issue, espesially in the first hours of releasing the software. Having a good place to seed almost equals to have a website for downloads...

P.S. I was under impression that attachments are not working atm...

len0x, in any case i am quite sure the app would be more than welcome as a project on corecodec.org, even if you promise to release the sources later.

TCMP makes about 300 GB / month and the guys can pay for that from the donations and registrations they receive, i am sure your program could be hosted ... talk to Blacksun if the initial hosting idea is no longer valid, or if you like to have a CVS for the project ...

EDIT : Betaboy told me the real bandwidth corecodec and TCMP do consume together, i was by factor 5 off ;) ...

If I publish the code, then it'll be part of Gordian Knot project at SF, where I have now 75Gb/month as minimim traffic :)

hehe...well in just going over our logs TCMP does about 400-500+GB monthly alone from CoreCoded.com and our file distributor 'filekicker' (with a 15-20% monthly growth the past 3 months).

Aside from that (and if I may say)... I hope your hosting works out ok for you. Chris was just extending an Olive Branch... to this point we have been very careful to add projects that can make a difference in the Audio and Video Community. This is our goal... which means we are not like SF.net... (not that what they are about is a bad thing at all) We just have 'focus' and it is because of that focus and people like Christian, Blacksun, Toff, Steve, Jory and all the CC Project Devs, why I chose to leave DivXNetworks and create CoreCodec. Remember, I was the only person there outside of Junto who was supporting ppl at ProjectMayo.. and it was me more then anyone else who was upset to see them squander that potential to a closed source effort.

Success can be had for all in an Open Source Audio and Video Community. We just need to figure out the right balance for devs, hosting, community involvement (enthusiasts, adopters) to keep 'almost' everyone happy. Yeah, a tough challenge... but nobody said it was gonna be easy.
