Do SVCD(ntsc)'s telecine on the fly?

Here's my usual conversion. Vob>dvd2avi>tmpgenc. Easy enough. In tmpgenc I choose SVCDntsc film on the first screen. Does this create a program stream with 24fps? I can check it with G-Spot but the newer versions don't support mpeg and don't give framerate. Can anyone post a link to the mpeg friendly version? Anyway gabest says 24fps and wmp6.4 crashes and says 29.976fps.

Short answer: yes.

Longer answer. You have to make sure "3:2 pulldown when playback" in enabled to set the propper flags on the output stream. Some players do it anyway, but better safe than sorry.

For BR analysis, try Bitrate Viewer (http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm). Also you might want to upgrade you WMP.
