I have shrunk down 2 Films 2 about 2 gig each in size.

One is a 16:9 film with 6 channel sound.
The other is a 4:3 film with 2 channel sound.

I have each film in 2 different folders.

I want to be able to create a DVD which has both films on and starts with a menu to select which film to play. I am not bothered with chapter select etc.

I have tried renaming the vobs etc and also used tmpeg DVD author but none works.

Surely there must be a simple way of doing this or a simple menu program to do it, or even a commercial package which can create a menu to point to the relevant Vob set for each film.

tmpeg DVD author will do this easilly - probably the easiest program around for mixed format multiple VTS. You must have overseen something.
Other programs will tend to re-encode your source material.
There are also Guides for this but thats a much more complicated way

I think you may be mistaken here.

If i try to load in the second film i get an error message stating that the 4:3 mode is not compatible with the first films 16:9

doubt it - you need to create a new title set and not put the second film in the same window as the first....

It works perfectly for this, but as maa said you have to make sure to add a new track for the 2d movie. You get that error when you try and add a 16:9 to a 4:3 in the same track but not if you make them different tracks.

Hi folks :D

Iīve read the post and i got another question: what if i want to make the same, but i want to retain the original structure of both movies ? Letīs say i rip them using DVDShrink (so i got all the menus and stuff) but downgrading to about half DVD-R each... I only need to create a top menu with the choice to select which one i like to play, then after i choose i get the original menus for each. Which program do i use to do that and how ? Iīve seen discs with two movies in them just like that... Thanks in advance guys :D

You wont find a program to do that for you, you'll need to re-author the menus of both films to get them to work together in one structure.

I see your point... Let me ask another question then: Can i get all the menus from the original films and use them in this re-authoring ? I remember seeing something about this in one guide on Doom9, am i right ? I didnīt have time to peruse the guides about this, iīll try later... Thanks a lot for the info !!! :D
