Is there any RV9 VfW implementation availiable?
At least VfW wrapper around it's own API...

i doubt that it is impossible (rv9 is not vfr per default)

Codecs are not variable framerate, containers are. The codec just passes through frames, the framework and the container handle the timecodes of those frames. The Real container does have the ability to store VFR video though. But, unless your source is VFR or you are using the dropdupe filter, its just going to be CFR.

nope, I can't aggree with that. Imagine you have a 30FPS source, and you ask producer to IVTC. Your video will move from 30 to 24 then return to 30 times to time. Also, for a full 24 FPS, you don't get a static 24, it's kinda moving a little.

When Producer does IVTC, it is the framework that is using VFR, not the codec. For static 24fps, you SHOULD be getting 24fps unless you use DropDupe and it drops a frame. If you aren't then something might be screwy. (Note that your decode rate can vary greatly).

I do concede that there are exceptions to this. I've been talking about MPEG-2 in MKV this morning and it does actually store the framerate in the video bitstream. Of course, it also says that you can't have vfr so it only half applies.
