a mate is wanting me to set up his 2 pc's together and allso the xbox online i was just going to do it with a simple switch and just plug everything in share the internet and yeah just set everything up as you would normally... would that work np's or is there something a bit different to do on the xbox or will it just not work at all ?????

Yes it should be fine. Better would be to get one of those linksys firewall routers. Most ISP are getting stingy about how many IP you have. There used to be a time I could get 4 IP from my ISP no problem. Now all I can get is the one. The linksys uses NAT to allow up to 254 systems behind it to all access the same connection over the same external IP. Plus it adds a few layers of security to shore up the woefully inadequate Microsoft softwares.

well the connection they have at the moment is an isdn connection running though usb to the computer so i was just going to use just the normall xp settings to share that connection to the rest of the network and plug it all into the switch that should all work ok shouldn't it?

don't want to go and buy them all the stuff hook it all up and find out that it's not going to work:confused:
