For the last few months, I've been getting an odd error every so often, and usually uninstalling and reinstalling GordianKnot ripp pack would take care of it. But this time, I can't get it to go away. And now that it's here, I get it for ANYTHING I try to convert.

The error I get is as follows:

Avisynth open failure:
Evaluate: Unrecognized exception!
(e:\ripp\identity\video_ts\identity.avs, line 51)

Line 51 of the .avs reads as follows:

LanczosResize(635,315)

I've tried all other resize filters as well (Simple, Soft Bicubic, etc.) and it still returns this error. If I comment out the line, and not resize at all, it works just fine. This just isn't cool, I need to resize.

I've been able to convert quite a few movies successfully, and I can't understand what I've done to make this happen. I've looked diligently thru all the stickys and searched the forums as well. [Which, BTW, have been incredibly helpful for all my other problems in the past!] I've set up gordian knot on a couple of different machines, and I've not yet encountered this particular problem.

Like I said, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the rip pack and reinstalling the codec pack. I'm considering formatting my system partition and reinstalling Windows, but I'd really rather not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope this isn't a stupid question, I've really looked hard for the answer!

oh, and if it helps. I'm running Windows XP Pro on an AthlonXP 1900+ w/ 512mb DDR RAM.

Thanks,
phray

Hi and welcome to the forum-

Your resize is no good, that's why (only Mod 1). And GKnot didn't give that resize to you unless you fooled around with the W and H-Moduls in the Resolution Tab. So go back to the Resolution Tab and reset them to their default 32 and 16 and try again. Read the first part of this, particularly the paragraph beginning with, "And one more thing.":

crap! I don't remember when/why I changed it, but that was definately the problem! I knew it had to be something I'd done.

Thanks for the help, you rock.
