Hi,

This has been really annoying me for along time.

I have the latest version of dvd2svcd, im using CCE 2.50.1.0 to encode, a dvd/avi/xvid into svcd, (im having probs with all coversions), Im encoding with one pass VBR, i think this is right but ive not tried any other methods as i was told to do this.

Films im coverting are around 1 hour 30mins, so i should get 2xSVCD output, first mpg i get is correct size about 750megs and 2nd mpg is around 950meg, so when it goes to make the bin/cue i have a 950meg BIN which i cannot burn :(... About a month ago i was having no problems then something changed and the above happened, so i formatted tonight and installed my codecs on a fresh WIN XP instalation and got the problem again, which makes me think i must have a setting wrong somewhere.

Please can someone tell me what im doing wrong here, and i am certain its not a problem with the coversion media as ive tried many!.

EDIT: Im using default bitrates

Thanks in advance,
TNT

1 pass VBR? There lies your problem. File size for 1 pass vbr is based upon the Q-factor in the Encoder tab. There is a plugin called D2SRoBa which analyses sections of the movie to arrive at a Q-factor with which 1 pass VBR will fill the target discs.

If you are not using this plugin but are using 1 pass vbr your filesize will not be correct. Either get the plugin and read the guide or move up to multipass (at least 3 for nice quality) vbr. It's slower but your images will always be the correct size.

Use the D2SRoba plugin. Works great. :)

If I choose to do 2 CD encodes I am averaging about 96% capacity with the plugin.
