Using D2SRoBa with D2S xvid>dvd, cce crashes?

When using D2SRoBa with an avi (xvid or divx) 2 dvd conversion, CCE always crashes after a few seconds as soon as the encode process starts.

When NOT using D2SRoBa with the same settings, multi-pass vbr (3 passes), CCE encodes fine from the recover file.

Using D2S 1.21.3, D2SRoBa 2.7.0 RC2, CCE 2.66.01.07 w/ eclCCE 1.7a.

Is the D2SRoBa plugin only for D2S dvd 2 dvd conversion?

Also, will the D2SRoBa plugin give me better results instead of 3(+) passes? I think I read here it would.

I had the same problem with an DivX backup I re-enc'd back to DVDR. I kept my AC3 stream from the DVD in the DivX file and so I demuxed the AVI before encoding. That way I could author manually using the MPV output from D2S and the AC3 stream from the AVI, getting a 5.1 audio stream on my DVDR.

When I tried to encode the video-only AVI stream following demuxing D2SRoBa wouldn't work. When I encoded from the original muxed avi, although it wasted time on unnecessary audio conversion, it converted my video fine!

Just mondered if this was the same problem...


PS I can't see how RoBa will significantly improve over multipass VBR but it will give similar results from much quicker encodes.
