im trying to convert an .avi movie into a .mpg movie with TMPGenc. I know that the .avi uses the Xvid codec but not much more than that. I manage to get the video out of it but there is no sound on my new .mpg

anyone know what i could do to solve my problem? im trying to get the movie onto an svcd but it needs cutting up to fit over 2 cds.

Doom9 has two step-by-step guides (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm) for AVI->SVCD conversion, using either DVD2SVCD or using TMPGEnc. You might find the TMPGEnc guide helpful in case you've missed a step, or you might find the DVD2SVCD guide helpful, as DVD2SVCD (using TMPGEnc as the encoder) will automate the entire process, leaving you with burnable CD image files (bin/cue format).
