Scenarist Import Failed

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with Sonic Scenarist. I used the Doitfast4u and reauthorist guide for dvd ripping. I first tried Beautuiful mind, but that one went wrong. Import failed.

Next I tried Gladiator. After CCE had finished 9 passes (20 hours of time), and I loaded the project in scenarist, I got the following error:

Info Validateing Video (VTS04\VTS__04_P03-NO-CCE.)
Warning This Video [ C:\dvd\VTS04\VTS__04_P03-NO-CCE.4~3_1.M2V ] has different duration.
Error The scene ( VTS_04_PGC_03, VTS04_vobid33_cellid01_1 ) timecode ( 00:00:00;24 ) is bigger than video duration.

Error Importing failed


I am not an expert, and I really dont have a clue what to do next. Can anybody help me ?

I use up to date software and CCE 2.5

It means that the pgc in question is actually a still frame that is displayed for 24 frames and should be treated as a still frame, not a video stream.

Hmm, is there something I can do about this ? Maybe use another authoring prog ? This is the 3rd dvd I use, and it still doesn' work.

It seems you need to run Pulldown on it to make it 29.97 if you are going for NTSC, if I read it correctly.

Why in the world are you doing 9 passes in CCE? CCE reaches it's limit of image quality between 3 and 4 passes.

Well luckily this file hasn't gone through cce at all (according to the file name) :) .

I would try to replace it by an other dummy (download from trilight's page) and I think the situation will be solved.

Its a known failing of Reauthorist (PLEASE PLEASE fix that and multi angles for next version!!!)

All you need to do to fix is go edit the Reauthorist.SCP file, find the entry for that PGC, and where it says "Item=Video"

Change it to "Item=Encoded Still"
