When you use many NLE, when you render the clip, you can save the avi as PAL DV, or NTSC DV, but there is no information about what DV codec you are using, so? what codecs use this applications???

In terms of quality: yes. Huffyuv is lossless, whereas DV is lossy (using a compression method similar to MJPEG).

Some use the MS codec, some use their own codecs. I don't know for sure which application uses which codec by default.

Anybody who knows the codec used for her / his application may feel invited to post it here.

Premiere 5.1, 6.0, and 6.5 use the Microsoft DV codec to render output. Output is only rendered when rendering preview files, sending the edited timeline to 1394, or saving to DV AVI -- all internal processing/effects/transitions are done with uncompressed RGB after having uncompressed the source material using whatever codec the source is. Premiere can be hacked to use alternate DV codecs, but it's not easy.

Premiere Pro is supposedly using the Main Concept DV codec to render output.

DV25 Codec information
Avid Xpress DV 3.5 ships with a separate DV25 codec that can be installed on any computer without the need for a dongle or license. This codec can be used with any QuickTime compliant application (for example, After Effects) for the decoding of Avid-generated material as well as the encoding of DV25 material for reimport back into the Avid Xpress DV application.
The use of the codec gives an excellent workflow: DV footage created in Avid Xpress DV can be transferred into third-party software without the need to reconvert the material, saving time and retaining quality. The same applies when rendering files in third-party software: The material is created in the Avid DV-native resolution, so the quality will be preserved when reimporting the material back into the Avid Xpress DV application.
