Is there any software player that plays vob file with 2nd audio ???

Ok I ripped a DVD into .vob files and I want to play the vob file but with the SECOND AUDIO file. Is there any software that does that ?? I know PowerDVD and WinDVD doesn't let me change audio while playing vob files. Most of the software players like PowerDVD plays vob files with the default audio which is the first audio right ?? Please help me..I really need to play my vob file with the second audio.

P.S. is there any codec that can do it...??

I have had the same problem, but try ripping the dvd to an *.iso (image), then it should work. For some reason when ripping to just the *.vob's changes the *.ifo files and dvd players don't know what to do with them since the information in that file is different, and not updated to line up correctly with the the *.vob's.

I'm a newbie on this stuff, so don't take my words as being correct, AFAIK thats the reason, I could be wrong.

You can do it with Gabest's Media Player Classic(Latest version 6.4.6.7).It has built in MPEG-2 decoder and ac3 parser.You need to install ac3filter[http://ac3filter.sf.net] to hear ac3 sound.

In MPC...Play menu..Filters...MPEG-2 splitter...select the appropriate ac3 track,thats it.

I think for DTS it will work...no sample clip in hand..so couldn't try.

Tuning, thansk for the reply...I did try out Gabest's Media Player Classic the latest version. But somehow I can't play my .vob files... Well sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. It's really weird. So can you email your working version of Gabest's Media Player Classic and all the filters and plugins that's requires...can you please help me? Because I really need a working player that supports dual audio selectable. Thank you so much..

modern software DVD players can play DVDs from HD.. you just have to rip the IFOs along with the VOBs, but since your goal is HD playback, ripping less than the entire disc is suicidal anyway.

First of all I must clarify that I'm not using special MediaPlayer Classic or special ac3 filter.The softwares/tools I use are always downloaded from doom9's software [www.doom9.org] page or from [www.sf.net] .Thus it is not the problem with the MPC you have downloaded,it is because of some incompatibility with some vobs.If you have problems with some vobs,please specify what type of the audio is using.(in this case).

And do as Doom9 told you in future.i.e always rip the *ifo file along with *.vob s.Then you can play ripped vobs as you play DVDs in PowerDVD/WinDVD.Just open the ifo files in these S/W players.

Ok thanks Tuning and Doom9 for replying my thread. But I really need to figure out how to make MediaPlayer Classic work, so that I can my my ac3 audio selectable. I just installed a fresh copy of WinXP on a system just to test out MediaPlayer Classic. So with a fresh WinXP I am able to play my .vob file on MediaPlayer Classic. But there's no sound. I even intalled ac3filter that Tuning told me. So my question is " Are there any filter or codec out there that I can install to get my .ac3 audio from playing .vob file with MediaPlayer Classic "?????? Video is ok...but no audio.

Can you otherwise play AC3, like by itself, or if it's muxed into an .avi? Did you by chance strip out the audio tracks from the vob files when decrypting with DVDDecrypter or SmartRipper?

But as Doom9 implies, I'm not sure why you'd want to do it anyway. I don't know if it's suicidal, but it seems kind of pointless to me.

Or may be the vob file contains only DTS.
AS you have Audigy,you need to configure ac3 filter.Go to control panel -> ac3filter ->select the appropriate speaker.
