I'll put this here, since it's primarily an audio related (if oddball) question.

Now I've downloaded an .avi with two audio streams that I'd like to convert to .mpg and burn to VCD. Problem is, the primary stream is german (which I don't want) and the secondary stream is english (which is the one that I do want).

Now what I'd like to know is if there is a way for me to reencode the avi with the audio streams either switched or with stream #1 deleted, using a program like virtualdub or some other? I don't mind doing two reencodes (avi-avi then avi-mpg) to get rid of the second stream. Failing that does anyone have any ideas for other simple options on how to encode the video with stream #2 as the primary audio source?

What I'm trying to avoid is the obvious solution, which is to rip the english stream, encode the avi without audio, then rencode it with the english stream as the only audio track. Mostly I dread this because at present the audio is lined up perfectly and if I can avoid risking knocking it out of synch I'd like to do so. Yes, I'm a wimp.

Any suggestions/help will be duly appreciated, ta.

Thanks for the welcome. Where does it say that this avi is illegal, copyrighted, and or warez? All I said is I downloaded it, it has multiple language streams, and I want to burn it onto a disk.

I love the modern era where people automatically assume piracy rather than say a school project video that my cousin in Lichtenstein made and which I want on a VCD because my dvd player is hooked up to my vcr and that way I can transfer it to VHS. :p

Ok then, here we go... :)

Load your movie into vdubmod 1.5.4.1, navigate to "Video" menu and then click on "Direct Stream Copy", move to the "Streams" menu, click on "Stream List" Double-click on the audio stream you want to disable (stream crossed with multiple lines=disabled) press ok and then save it as AVI. (Only one audio stream will remain after this procedure)

That was exactly what I needed to know, thank you very much. :D
