Video Editing

Hi everyone !

Ok, here goes. For a religion project, I have to do a Star Wars video . I am familiar with Video Encoding since I have been ripping DVDs for a few months, however, I have no skills at all in video editing. The only time I did a video was on a Macintosh on iMovie and it was quite easy ...

I though about Adobe Premiere ? I need a prog that adds text , soundtracks so I can add music or sound on multiple tracks, fade outs, "special effects", cut/paste, etc...

I do have all the equipment I believe... DVD-Rom, DVD/VHS Combo plugged in computer...

My specs are the following for computer :
PIV 3.0GHZ 800FSB
1GB DDR-400 Dual Channel
WD 120GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache
ATI All-IN-WONDER 9700 Pro

Can anybody suggest a good program I can buy (whatever the price is) ? Thanks in advance !

Since it is very pricey, is it worth it ? I own Adobe Premiere, I dont like it so much, Im just wondering if its powerful ???

i haven't used it myself, but i've seen what other people have done with it and actually was quite impressed. if you want to know in specific, if it fits your needs you might want to talk to manono a bit, he might be able to give you some tips.

I have used the demo version and looks nice.
Try downloading trial version and makeup your mind.In my Opinion the usage is better than Adobe premiere.

both videos r resized to the dimensions of the project
