Faster way to convert with a lossless codec.

I tried this program called MPEG Mediator to convert an M2V file to an AVI, using the VBLE codec. It is available at www.mpegmediator.com or www.wolf-town.com. The program seems to do the converting a lot faster than VirtualDubMod does. I use FastRecompress in VirtualDubMod, so I would figure it would mostly be the codec itself that would determine the speed, but this program seems faster. I have not actually tested the times for both, but I should, instead of just speculating. Has anyone else had the same results?

Vdub seems pretty darn fast to me. VOB to HUFFY at 720x480 in VDUB with no filters and no resizing, just plug in chug avs file, I get 110fps on my rig. That's pretty darn fast imho.
