I have just finished muxing my very first matroska file using Xvid and Ac3.It plays back fine on my pc but when i transferd it to my xbox it would not play it.The xbox plays avi and ogm fine.
Does anyone have experience with getting mastroska to play on the xbox?
I can't get on to the XBMP forum at the moment as they are closed in protest.

You are going to need a newer version of Mplayer which is actually what XBMP is inside. I don't think you are gonna have much luck.:sly:

Well,i'm using xboxmediaplayer 2.4 and it clearly states that matroska is supported.I guess there must be different definitions of supported ah.Thanks for your help guys,i'll keep trying and post my results for anyone that is interested.

You may try some more simple test Matroska files to see if it's not the mix of AC3 & XVid that is the problem.

Matroska was supported in Xbox Media Player 2.4 point release but broken in later/latest CVS
PS! The XBMP site/forum is not closed, read the whole page you'll see the link

Thanks cyberace, i see the link now.I have yet to try the 2.4 point release.I get my builds from ftp only and am not sure which one is the release that supports matroska, i guess i will try them ubtil i get the right one.
On the up side Rv9 is supported in the latest cvs build and works very well.I'm testing multi channel audio now.
For anyone wanting to try it you will need to rename the file to .rm rather than .rmvb or xbmp won't pick it up.
