Getting "Disc not formatted to play in this region" error

I get the error everytime I test the dvd with powerdvd and ifoedit. Everything plays fine(warnings, menu)but once I press play, it happens. It happens on the untouched vobs and the encoded ones. Anyone know how to fix it?

what program are you using to rip the files to your hard drive?

I'm using Dvd Decrypter, the latest one.

in the program's settings check to remove the 'rc' and 'rce protection' in all the tabs that u can find it.

I think by defualt all of those settings are checked. Just in case I double checked the settings and they are good to go. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the error. I'm starting to think it is a lost cause.

I was having this problem when Fierce Creatures were released, when they checked the sprm values and prohibited playback, all by mistake of the authorer. After checking with the logic of the ifo I just changed the 1st play item and directed it to the movie itself, so the problem was circumvented. Perhaps its the same issue for u too.
