I have a problem adding new subtitle to a DVD.

Using the guide of vobedit and ifoedit i demuxed all the movie, audio and subtitles, and i changed one of the subtitles with my subtitle , but after i authorize i got in the ifo a shorter playback time then original (original 1:26:16 , and the authorized 1:07:10.
The movie is ntsc 16:9.
With poverdvd everything is ok (subtitle and all) , but when i try to play it with my standalone player (pioneer) the counter stops on the display at 8 sec , and after a short time (about 5 sec.) the picture freeze.
If i skip to the next chapter the counter on the display jumps to the time of the chapter, but not count, and same thing, the picture freeze after 5 sec.

What is wrong ?

Thanks

What authoring software did you use to re-author this? If it was IFOEDIT v95, it dosn't author properly with NTSC 2:3 pulldown. I had the same problem with an older Pioneer non progressive scan without 3:2 pulldown.

I use for reauthoring ifoedit 0.96.
Maybe you can suggest a better reauthoring tool, or a complete different demuxing.
i use for demuxing vobedit , for subtitle srt2sup and for reauthoring ifoedit .

Thanks

I had similar problem with my Philips, and I think I found a solution. It isn't perfect, but works in most cases.
Try this command (of course you will need pulldown.exe):
pulldown.exe source.m2v target.m2v -nopulldown -norff -framerate 23.976 -tff odd -prog_seq p -prog_frames p
And then author target.m2v

With one movie (Brother) I got A/V desynchronization, but I think it's something wrong with this movie :(
